Discovery Internacional is a Christian non-profit foundation based in Quito, Ecuador. We believe education opens doors and the gospel changes destinies: families come for the language and the academics, and find a place where their children are loved and guided to Christ.

Our team

Christian Sylva

Director & Founder

Chris was born and raised in Ecuador and has served as a missionary teacher in Quito since 2001. He is the founder and director of the Discovery Internacional foundation, Discovery Academy Jr. and Discovery Academy. He felt called to create a space where children could learn about the Lord while receiving an excellent English education.

Isabel Sylva

Vice-Director

Isabel was born and raised in Quito and has served as a teacher and missionary for 16 years. She helped found Discovery Academy Jr. and Discovery Academy, and has a passion for leading little ones to the Lord through her example and guidance.

Kristin Sylva

Coordinator

God led Kristin to Quito to serve as a missionary after graduating with a degree in Elementary Education. She has served as a missionary teacher since 2011, helping lead Discovery Academy Jr. and Discovery Academy. She is a mother of three girls.
